Mission Statement for our Rental & Drilling Rig Companies

Viking Drilling Ltd. was founded by Tom Pettie, a Red Deer Drilling contractor in March of 2014.  Pettie managed a successful drilling company for many years prior; operating rigs throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.  Pettie states, "The key to success is surrounding oneself with good people.  I call it my three D's: Dignity, Dedication, and Determination.  These are the qualities I look for in people."  Over his career Pettie has formed invaluable relationships with customers, industry experts, and 'top notch' rig personnel.  Viking has strategically chosen its team; one that is a leader in oil & gas drilling.  The current drilling fleet consists of 4 conventional stiff mast singles. Viking's rigs are designed to mobilize quickly with a minimum amount of truck loads and to drill efficiently and more economically than the competition.  Complete wire-line retrievable coring packages are also available for each rig.  Viking's growth will rely on its ability to respond to industry needs and by capitalizing on new opportunities.  The focus of the company is not to become the largest drilling contractor, but to become the safest, best performing, and most reliable drilling contractor in the industry.
